It is an open fired continuous roller hearth furnace. There is no protective atmosphere. This furnace can accommodate bars up to thirty nine feet in length. The annealing cycle provides a mill anneal, or an anneal for machinability. The resulting structure demonstrates the presence of lamellar pearlite as well as a spheroidization. However, neither of these structures can be considered predominant.
